“Choices, not Circumstance”

Audience: Grades 4 – 12

Length: 45-60 minutes

This moving and dynamic presentation challenges students to reassess their life’s choices and journey,and gives them tools to use when they are faced with difficult circumstances. Julie recounts her own powerful and heart-wrenching challenges in life, such as surviving a horrific car accident caused by a drunk driver, to losing her best friend in high school to an accidental drug overdose. Her strategies and strength which ultimately led her to living a successful and courageous life, are not only inspiring, but are applicable to anyone.

“I got this!”

Audience: Grades 6-12

Length: 45-60 minutes

Youth are bombarded with unrealistic images and false realities through social media, TV, video games and their peers. The result of this is low self-esteem and negative body image which can lead to bigger problems such as cyber-bullying, eating disorders, self-harm and at worst suicide.

Learning outcomes of “I got this” include:

  • Debunking the myths of the media
  • Changed perspective on the images seen on social media
  • Self-validation and acceptance
  • Encouraging Self-love
  • Encouraging the sisterhood/friendship
  • Ending the no-win game of comparison

 

“Bully be gone”

Audience: Grades K-12

Length: 45-60 minutes

Julie presents an interactive anti-bullying campaign suited to K-12.  During this interactive presentation, students learn:

  • How to proactively deal with a bully
  • Why bullies do what they do, and how to respond in a positive and empowering manner
  • The behaviors that constitute bullying and how to counteract them
  • To value themselves despite having experienced bullying
  • To empower themselves and to manage their external environment and pressures in healthy ways
  • Strategies to change their mindset from negative to positive, to not only deal with a bullying situation, but any challenge that life throws their way

 

“Red Ribbon Week presentation”

Audience: Grades 4-12

Length: 45-60 minutes

A powerful, interactive presentation highlighting anti-alcohol, anti-drugs and anti-tobacco messages based on Julie’s own personal experiences of losing her best friend in High School to an accidental drug overdose, as well as surviving a horrific car accident she endured caused by a drunk driver.

This is a raw and moving presentation aimed at taking the shine off drug and alcohol experimentation in youth, and exposing the harsh truths about using drugs, alcohol and tobacco.

 

“College & Career Mastery”

 

Audience: 6th – 12th Grade

Length: 60 minutes/session

Working with the California Department of Education and the ECCCO curriculum standards and 21st Century Learning Skills, I have created a comprehensive “College and Career Mastery” Training Program for middle school and high school students, to prepare them to successfully transition from middle school to high school, and then on to the college/university and the career of their choice.

This program systematically develops the vital life and professionalism skills that are necessary to achieve success in the current economic climate.

Audience: Adults

Length: 60 minutes

In this strategy-filled presentation, Julie gives educators and administrators the tools they need to prioritize their lives in a way that creates balance, which in turn creates happiness. This presentation focuses on how the individual can re-align themselves with what’s important to them, to live a fulfilling life.
